Scope and Contents
The Gettysburg Monuments Project Collection contains documents related to� the efforts of the Gettysburg Monuments Project to preserve and rehabilitate the memorials honoring the soldiers who fought at Gettysburg through fundraising, awareness, and education. The collection consists primarily of correspondence - printed emails and letters. The majority of correspondence within the collection concerns Representative Harry Readshaw and his Legislative Assistant Kathi Schue. Additionally, it contains many news clippings and larger portions of Pennsylvania and Civil War-related newspapers, as well as press releases. Further information provided by this collection is related to fundraising and corporate sponsorship of the Project's endeavors. Notably, local programming is documented in this collection through materials related to the School Monument Challenge, commemorative license plate sales, and 5k fundraiser.
