Scope and Contents

This collection includes campaign material, extensive legislative work files, speeches and newsletters, research and informational files regarding the Camp Hill Prison Riots and 88th District transportation issues, newspaper clippings, photographs, video and awards. This collection will prove valuable for researchers interested in the 88th District due to Mr. Nailor’s long history and obvious love of his hometown area as well as for researchers interested in the issues on which Mr. Nailor worked. The Camp Hill Prison Riot files are a particularly rich resource including timetables and radio log of the actual event and the ways in which various groups studied and dealt with the incident after it was over.

This collection is arranged in nine series: Series 1. Campaign Memorabilia; Series 2. Legislative Work (arranged by session); Series 3. Speeches and Newsletters; Series 4. Camp Hill Prison Riots and Prison Overcrowding; Series 5. Transportation Issues; Series 6. Newspaper Clippings; Series 7. Photographs; Series 8. Video; and Series 9. Awards. In addition, Mr. Nailor donated an oversized campaign poster that is located with the oversized material.

There may be information regarding the Camp Hill Prison Riots in the Judiciary Committee from 1989-1990. House Resolution 226 was introduced by Nailor and the Judiciary Committee was instructed to study the incident and write a report. The report is included in this collection.

Other Descriptive Information

This collection contains a great many original newspaper clippings that should be photocopied on acid free paper.
