Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, 2005-2006
Scope and Contents
The 2005-2006 Aging and Older Adult Services Committee dealt with the typical issues with which the Committee always deals. However, this Session, the Committee also handled topics such as health care facilities (House Bill 247); family caregiver support (House Bill 566); regulation of adult living residences (House Bill 259) as well as Long-Term Care issues (House Bills 93, 222 and 412), generally; adult day care (House Bill 1604); proceeds from the Pennsylvania Lottery (House Bill 2088 and Senate Bill 1188); pharmaceutical concerns (House Bill 2263); and a wireless emergency telephone program (House Bill 1326), to name just a few.
Only two public hearings were held on insurance policy holders' rights (House Bill 2178) and the protection of abused, neglected, exploited or abandoned adults (House Bill 2269), the official transcript of both are available via the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Public Hearing Database.
The Meeting and Public Hearing files in this collection contain little information beyond the attendance and vote records and minutes. Folder 4 contains a report generated by the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee regarding Long Term Care for the Elderly in Pennsylvania which is available for electronic viewing at: http://lbfc.legis.state.pa.us.
