Cabinet Card Collection, 1881-1895
Scope and Contents
This collection of Cabinet Cards was purchased from Ebay in 2008. Included are photographs of 7 former House Members, 11 former Senators and 6 unidentified men. These photographs provide a rare glimpse of the men who served in Pennsylvania politics during the 1880's and 1890's. Sixteen of the cards are signed. Twenty of the photographs were taken by the Le Rue Lemer photographic studios which was located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and was responsible for the photographs in several books entitled, "Pennsylvania State Government in Picture and Story." The other photographers include: C.W. Derstine, F. Gutekunst, M.E. Low and Charles A. Williams of the Commonwealth Photographic Studio.
