Scope and Contents
The records of the Policy Committee from the 2013-2014 session, the Republicans in majority. Dave Reed served as majority chairperson. The collection contains records of the meetings, public hearings, and roundtable discussions held during the session. Some of the topics included poverty, economic development, unemployment, career paths for college students. The files are photocopies of the original records, which are maintained by the Committee.

Method of Acquisition
Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage. The Policy Committee does not fall in the specific definition of a Standing Committee. Therefore, this committee is not required to submit the original records at the end of the session. Photocopies are acceptable.
