Scope and Contents

The records of the Aging and Older Adult Services Committee for the 2015-2016 session, the Republicans in majority. The Chairs were Tim Hennessey (majority) and Steve Samuelson (minority). Mauree Gingrich was the majority chair for the Subcommittee on Care and Services and Pamela DeLissio served as minority Chair. The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Programs and Benefits were Harold English (majority) and Eddie Pashinski (minority). The Secretaries were Steven Mentzer (majority) and Adam Ravenstahl (minority). The majority of this committee's attention was focused on amending the Older Adults Protective Services Act, altering the State Lottery Law to further define pharmaceutical assistance for the elderly, prohibiting provider financial interests, establishing legal precedent for the protection of eldery welfare, and considering grievances regarding the Aging Waiver Enrollment Process.

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
