Biography

Brian L. Ellis was born in Butler, Butler County, PA in 1969. He graduated from Butler High School in 1988 and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Communications in 1988. He later was the co-owner of the Ellis Auto Group. Ellis first ran for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2002, but was unsuccessful. He ran again in 2004 for the 2005 term and was successfully elected to represent the 11th District which includes Butler County. He served an additional 8 terms before resigning on March 18, 2019. During his time in the House, Ellis was appointed to the Stimulous Oversight Committee from 2009 to 2010 and was elected Majority Caucus Administrator from 2015-2016. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention for 2008 and 2016.
